  • Costume Exchange
     Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â  Rewear!                     Rescare!          

    Make plans now to attend the District's Halloween Costume Exchange!  It will be held on Thursday, October 7th at the Plainfield Public Library. We'll be upstairs in the McMillan Rooms A & B.  The time is 4pm to 7pm.  Bring a clean, gently used costume to exchange for a "new" spooktacular costume.  Last year we had a great time, come join the fun! 

    Come at 4pm to make your own Halloween craft.

School and Youth Education PDF Print E-mail

Education is critical to the success of any solid waste reduction and recycling effort. The Hendricks County Solid Waste District is committed to providing valuable, comprehensive educational programs and services to youth in the community.

Youth Program Information
Free in-school programs that meet state academic stanards are available for all age levels.  Programs are also available for homeschooling groups, Scout Troops and summer camps.  Popular program titles include "Worms are Still Eating My Garbage," "How Do They Do That," "Jammin' with Junk," "Who Polluted White Lick Creek," and "Pop Bottle Science."  A brochure that highlights the District's Youth Education Programs is available here: Fall Brochure 2010

Trash Talk
The District also provides all fourth grade classes in t
he county quarterly copies of Trash Talk, a newletter that is designed and written to educate students about the what, when, where, and how of the District's local programs and facilities as well as fun activities that reinforce the District's waste reduction and recycling message.  The most recent edition of Trash Talk is available here:  Summer 2010 Trash Talk

School Grants Program
Hendricks County Schools are eligible to receive up to $500 to begin or expand recycling programs.  More information, including the grant application, is available here:  School Grants Program Information.
